For the fourth consecutive year, The Star Event Centre has been recognised at the prestigious National Meetings & Events Australia (MEA) Awards Dinner held last night in Adelaide, this year receiving the award for the Best Event Management Team: In-House Corporate.
The win is evidence of The Star’s world-class venues, services and staff that, together, have set a new industry benchmark for delivering outstanding events and professional services for clients that go above and beyond expectations time and time again.
Dino Mezzatesta, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Hotels, Food & Beverage and Retail, is delighted to see the Star Event Centre’s in-house event professionals recognised for their vision, work ethic and delivery.

The Star Event Centre In-House Event Team has hosted over 175 events between 1 October 2016 and 31 December 2017, including 77 banquet dinners, 25 conferences, 17 cocktail events, 19 concerts and one movie premiere.
Samantha Valente, Director of Events for The Star Sydney accepted the award on The Star’s behalf.
Recognising the most prestigious meetings and events accomplishments in Australia, the MEA Awards honour the achievement of excellence in a range of categories.

The Star Sydney has been crowned the winner of the ‘In-House Events Management Team: In-House Corporate’ category in the annual Meetings and Events Australia (MEA) NSW Industry Awards, held last night in Sydney.
The award recognises the hard work The Star’s internal team puts into managing high profile events at The Star Event Centre, including AACTA Awards, ARIA Awards, the GQ Man of The Year Awards, World Business Forum, The Greatest Showman red carpet premiere, and sell-out concerts for international pop acts including Lionel Richie and Tom Jones. In addition, The Star Event Centre regularly hosts events on behalf of Government tourism bodies and trade agencies, playing an active role in promoting Australia as a premier destination for international visitors.
Celebrating the win, Dino Mezzatesta, Chief Operating Officer of Hotels, Food & Beverage and Retail at The Star Sydney commented on the performance of the close-knit events management team.

The Star’s Director of Events, Samantha Valente accepted the awards on behalf of the team at The Star Events Centre.
The Star Sydney will compete for the national title at the MEA National Awards Dinner, which will take place on Tuesday, 8 May 2018 in Adelaide.
The Star has won numerous MEA awards including MEA NSW Award for Best In-House AV Team 2015 and 2016, and the National Award for Best Specialty Venue 2017, 2016 and 2015, resulting in entry to the Hall of Fame in 2017.
